Privacy policy

Last updated: [date]

This policy explains what happens to the details you give us when you share a spot. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need, and we never sell or share it.

Who we are

Peaceful Paddle Spots is run by [your name]. If you have any questions about your details, email [contact email].

What we collect

Only what you choose to give us through the Share a spot form:

  • details of the spot, plus any photos or route you add
  • your name
  • your email address, if you give it
  • whether you’re happy to be credited by name

How we use it

  • To review the spot you’ve shared.
  • To contact you about it, if you’ve given your email, for example to tell you it’s live.
  • To credit you by name in the spot’s description, but only if you’ve said yes.

Our legal basis

We use your details because you’ve given your consent by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing [contact email].

What we don’t do

  • We never sell your details.
  • We never share them with anyone else for marketing.
  • We never add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

We keep your details only for as long as we need them to review your spot and let you know the outcome, then we delete them within [timeframe, e.g. 3 months]. If you’ve agreed to be credited, your name stays on the spot’s page until you ask us to remove it.

Where it’s kept

Your details are kept securely by [form or email provider] and only we can see them.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the details we hold about you at any time. Just email [contact email]. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
